Cousin
It seems we soon forget
The lives we sadly let
Disappear in our past,
But memories will last.
I always looked up to you,
What you can do, I can do
You were always so tall,
Dark sunglasses and all.
A cousins love, such a gest,
A cut above the rest.
Me, born without a brother,
You're a friend like no other.
Our personalities different,
But that doesn't make a dent.
Not only my flesh and blood;
My cousin, my pal, my bud.
Now were older and grown,
Other states, other homes.
We come from different worlds,
But out hearts from the same mold.
For the rest of my days,
No matter the ways,
I'm going to strive
To keep you in my life.
So, you I'm not soon to forget,
Cuz you're not done being my cousin yet.
